Summer Lovin'
Out of all the seasons in the year summer has always been my least favorite. I mean how can people be outside with the heat and being sticky and sweaty. But it wasn’t until this year that I finally for some strange reason decided to enjoy summer, well at least the last half of it. Let’s be honest I can’t do all four months out in the sun.
The fact that I decided to quit my last job in order to focus on on my career path was defiantly a big reason as to why I was able to enjoy summer. Being able to get away from the high passed, high stress environment was a huge relief. It helped me take a step back and really start to analyze my last two years at the company I was, how much I was able to grow and learn about an industry I love, but also how much I learned about myself. I realized that no mater the job you must always do the work well- not for the boss but for yourself. I also realized how important it is to value all the hard work you do and how important it is to do something you love.
I had spent the last two months soaking in the sun down at Laguna Beach, spent a weekend at a yurt in Joshua Tree and spent another weekend enjoying the coastal breeze in Santa Barbara. There was no better way to say goodbye to the summer than by spending my mom’s birthday in Palm Springs.
Palm Springs will always be a special place to me, mainly because it reminds me of our summers when we were little and used to spend our summers in Palm Springs. I love being able to get away from LA with my family and just drink by the pool, cook together and swim all day. I’m so happy that the kids are finally old enough to enjoy weekend trips and know that they’ll actually remember it. We’re already planning a weekend trip to Big Bear in December.
Another reason why I loved this trip was because all my virgo friends decided to also spend their birthday in Palm Springs. So it comes to no surprise come nightfall I called an Uber to meet up with them and drink some more.
